What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android device?

The Fitbit app for Android is supported by over 150 Android devices. For the latest list, see https://www.fitbit.com/devices.

 
Known issues (all Android devices)
Known IssueOS
Due to Google permissions requirements for Bluetooth syncing, you must turn on location services to set up and sync your tracker (Settings > Location). You must also allow the Fitbit app to access your location. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app prompting me to turn on location services?6.0+
You may not receive call notifications on your Charge or Charge HR.7.1, 7.1.1
You may be unable to use connected GPS with Fitbit Blaze. For the latest list of devices that support the connected GPS feature, visit http://www.fitbit.com/devices. Fitbit frequently adds support for new devices, so if yours isn't listed check back soon.4.4+
Some devices require 5.0+
You may be unable to sync your tracker or use call, text, and calendar notifications.5.0+
Syncing options may be missing. In the Fitbit app, tap Account (User-added image) > Help > Contact Customer Support and mention in the body of the email that you don't see syncing options on your supported device.Any non-custom OS
Turn on the Always Connected option in your tracker settings to improve the Bluetooth connection with your phone. Note that turning on this feature may cause the battery on your tracker to drain more quickly than normal.4.4+

 

Known issues (specific Android devices)

Motorola and Nexus devicesUsing all-day sync may cause rapid battery drain in your tracker and mobile device. We recommend disabling this setting. Nexus devices may need to be restarted after installing a new version of the Fitbit app for Android.4.4+
Motorola Moto XThis device may have difficulty sending encrypted call, text, or calendar notifications. For more information about encryption, see My tracker isn't receiving notifications from my Android phone. 
Samsung S4This device does not allow you to send logs from the Fitbit app to Fitbit Customer Support. 
Samsung S5 and S6, Samsung Note 5You may be unable to use music control with Fitbit Blaze. 
HTC One M7, M8, M9You may be unable to receive encrypted call, text, or calendar notifications.  For more information about encryption, see My tracker isn't receiving notifications from my Android mobile device.
If you have a Fitbit Charge, you won't be able to sync after a firmware update. Set up your tracker again using a computer and update the firmware.
5.0+
Sony Xperia Z and Z1You may not be able to sync if you have both Bluetooth and Wi-FI turned on.
